Goodbye Winter, It's Been Fun

*Disclaimer* I try really hard not to do generic "here's what we've been up to" or random, jumpy posts. It's not that I dislike them in any way--it's just not generally my style. When able, I like to have a focused purpose for each post I write. It's probably the writer in me, begging for a defined thesis. (Yes, even for a blog post. I may have a problem.)

That said, I've come to the grips with the fact that this blog is not just an outlet for whatever creative steam I feel I need to burn off. I'm forcing myself to remember that I have a lot of family that live very far away, and they generally appreciate seeing what we're up to (read: what Cambrie is up to). And whether they like my writing style or not, when I'm in lazy-blogging-modes like I've been in lately, they'd probably rather have something than nothing.

So here it is, folks... a (duh duh DUHN) catch-up post!!

Most of these are fun events from a few weeks ago, before it got so warm. So what have we been up to?

There's been Cambrie's new favorite thing in the world -- four-wheeling:

Hooray for huge yards!

You've seen a lot of forced Cambrie-smiles on this blog. That one, my friends, is real.

We've have crazy amounts of park-fun:

This was a really cute picture... .3 seconds before I actually took it. That's what you get when trying to photograph a pack of two-year-olds.

Once again, right before the picture I actually had them all both looking and smiling. Impressive, I know. Too bad there's no photographic evidence.

We've visited Patrick's family for girl fun and guy fun:

Little cousins + awesome aunts = pretty nails

And while the girls were going their girly things, Patrick joined his brother and dad for a little bonding of their own.
And, when all the fun and excitement was too much to take, we made whole wheat pancakes to settle ourselves down. (Well, and because our frozen pancake stash was depleted.)

Yumyumyumyumyum.

When she's not eating them plain, she likes them with applesauce or vanilla yogurt.

I personally love them with apple butter. Another recent favorite is topped with peanut butter and then home-canned peaches.

Of course, not much tops the classic butter-and-syrup combo.

So there you have it; hope these little snippets of our world have made up for my blogging sluggishness. I'm hoping to kick things up a notch and get a few more posts in before March kicks the bucket, so keep your eyes open.
